Comidas Chinamperas
The Comidas Chinamperas take place twice a month. They are a collaboration between Arca Tierra and chefs from Mexico and around the world who share our values of sustainability, traceability, and commitment to regenerative agriculture.
Ten percent of the proceeds from each Comida Chinampera are donated to the Xochimilco Agroecological Initiative, A.C. to support the Biocultural Restoration program of the Chinampa area.

Where is the meeting point?
Once you buy your tickets, the exact location will be sent by email. The meeting point is located nearby the Embarcadero General de Cuemanco.

Is parking available?
Yes, there is parking available. The prices is between $70 to $100 MXN per car and it’s subject to availability.

Are restrooms available?
We have eco toilets at the chinampa, they are so we recommend that you wait to get to it.

Is there electricity or wifi?
La Chinampa del Sol is a rural facility where there is no electricity or Wi-Fi.

How long does the experience last?
Each experience lasts at least three hours and begins the moment guests board the trajinera. It ends once they are back at the pier.

Is gratuity included?
It is not included, the tip is at the discretion of the client. If you want to leave a tip, you can do it directly with the chinampa staff.

How long does it take to get to the chinampa?
The travel time by trajinera is approximately 30 minutes.

If I am late for the appointment at the pier, can I arrive on my own?
No, since we use boats to get to the chinampa.

Do you accept pets?
To maintain the integrity of the beds in the chinampas, we do not accept pets (even if they have a carrier, leash or are in a bag).

Do minors pay a ticket?
Those who are over 3 years old do pay a ticket.

Are there vegetarian/vegan options at the event?
In the chinampero sunrise and brunch experiences we always include vegetarian options. Private experiences and guest chefs will depend on the design of the menu, so there are not always options. We ask that you let us know if you have any dietary restrictions in the notes when paying.

If I don't make it to the event, can I get my ticket refunded?
All sales are final. We do not make refunds.

What is the dressing code?
We recommend wearing comfortable, light clothing that can get dirty and/or wet.
In the mornings it can be cold, so we recommend you to wear warm clothes and closed shoes. In the rainy season, we recommend you to bring a raincoat or umbrella. -
What happens if I forget an object in the chinampa or in the trajinera?
Due to the characteristics of the spaces, we cannot be held responsible for lost or forgotten objects.

What is the difference between Sunrise at the Chinampas, Heirloom Kitchen and Mexican Classics?
The difference is the time they take place, sunrise will always take place between 6 and 6:30 am depending on the season. Both experiences may include the same menu.

Can experiences be combined?
Each experience is planned for an average duration of three hours, so it is not possible to combine them with each other.

What is the minimum number of people needed to book a private experience?
For private events a minimum of 10 people is required.

Do you have experiences available during the week?
Private experiences can always be scheduled during the week at least 48 hours in advance. Public experiences only take place on regular or long weekends.

If we hire a private experience, can we bring our own food and drinks?
No, all experiences except Arcano for a day include a culinary experience. If you require alcoholic beverages, they can be included in the price, which must be paid at least one week in advance.
